{"id":175,"date":"2009-02-28T14:04:19","date_gmt":"2009-02-28T19:04:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.helenkelley-patchworks.com\/?p=175"},"modified":"2024-02-19T12:05:58","modified_gmt":"2024-02-19T18:05:58","slug":"helens-life-lessons","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.helenkelley.lee-databasics.com\/?p=175","title":{"rendered":"Helen&#8217;s Life Lessons"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>February 28, 2009 &#8211; <\/em>These words are from Helen&#8217;s presentation during her induction into the Quilter&#8217;s Hall of&nbsp; Fame, July 2008.&nbsp; We thought you might enjoy them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These are the life lessons you and quilting have taught me:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"margin-right:var(--wp--preset--spacing--30);margin-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--30)\">Love your craft.&nbsp; Be proud of tiny stitches.&nbsp; Respect tradition.&nbsp; But learn something new, try something hard, make a new tradition.&nbsp; Then pass it on the next generation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"margin-right:var(--wp--preset--spacing--30);margin-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--30)\">See things with different eyes. Look for the small treasures.&nbsp; Find the happiness and solace in your work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"margin-right:var(--wp--preset--spacing--30);margin-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--30)\">Share your passion. Quilt with a friend, or friends, or many friends.&nbsp; Be generous&nbsp; with your time, your advice, your praise, your ideas, your fabric.&nbsp; There is joy in giving something from your heart.&nbsp; It comes back to you many-fold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"margin-right:var(--wp--preset--spacing--30);margin-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--30)\">The quilt your are working on is never your last quilt.&nbsp; But some projects seem to go on forever.&nbsp; Know when enough is enough.&nbsp; Don&#8217;t obsess over the stuff that doesn&#8217;t matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"margin-right:var(--wp--preset--spacing--30);margin-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--30)\">Tell your story.&nbsp; Embellish it a little.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"margin-right:var(--wp--preset--spacing--30);margin-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--30)\">Always Have fun.&nbsp; And keep the magic in your life.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>February 28, 2009 &#8211; These words are from Helen&#8217;s presentation during her induction into the Quilter&#8217;s Hall of&nbsp; Fame, July 2008.&nbsp; We thought you might enjoy them.
